Five steps for maintaining good order in your customer register

A database consists by definition of information. So it is true to say that the quality of the database is completely dependent on the quality of the information it contains. This is what we mean when we talk about information strategy, i.e. the best approach for long-term quality assurance of a customer database. For practical reasons, we usually proceed on the basis of a 5-step model:

1. Control and structure

By cleansing (matching) your customer database, we can identify who your customers are. When we know this, we can create a correct, duplicate-free and complete platform for your company’s base information.

2. Long-term quality

A database is like a home: you can’t just clean it once a year. Achieving long-term quality is all about updating on a regular basis. The frequency at which this needs to be done depends largely on how big the database is. By linking your customer database to PAR, updating is carried out automatically.

3. Structure of new information

If you can’t find what you’re looking for in your information, its quality won’t matter. This is why it’s important that you always proceed from the same structure when making new entries. PAR’s One-By-One service is a flexible way to make this work.

4. Analysis

When we carry out an analysis of your customer database and compare it to our own comprehensive data bank, we can identify “twins”. This is a list of companies that, in one way or another, resemble your existing customers. In other words: good prospects.

5. Duplicate-free target group purchasing

When you have identified your new target group, all you have to do is to order the details from PAR. There is no risk of buying information that you already have. This helps to ensure that your existing customers and your prospects always receive the correct message.
