Target groups

”PAR has an overall grasp that is invaluable to us.”

When Confex Sweden AB started their operation in Sweden in 2003, they already had a lot of ideas for their upcoming seminars; several years’ in business as a conference and seminar organizer in Norway had given the Confex group real experience.
”But we were needed an address supplier in Sweden,” explains Arve Brogstad, Marketing Director of Confex. ”We needed someone that could provide us with all the extremely varied target groups we need for the various different kinds of seminar. But straight away someone recommended we contact PAR.”

As Scandinavia’s leading seminar and conference organizer, with a wide range of events, Confex appeals to broad-ranging, as well as smaller, niche groups. Their product portfolio includes several different areas, such as Leadership, Conflict Management, Elderly Care and Financial work.

”With PAR we found the decision makers in private sector businesses, but also within the public sector and healthcare, which are also important target groups to us. Over the years we have built up our own Swedish client database in our CRM system, which PAR matched and quality assured. In addition, we receive continuous notifications of changes to our client companies, which we enter into the system,” continues Arve.
Confex has built a business on a clear business concept. After extensive research into the needs of the target groups, e.g. finding the right subject and lecturer, each seminar and conference is tailored, from idea to event.

”Prior to the mailings for our seminars and conferences, PAR provides us with addresses of the prospects. They are of course checked against our existing clients to avoid duplicates,” explains Arve. ”At the beginning, it was mainly postal mailings, sometimes backed up with a fax. These days we usually use email, which we discovered worked very well for us. In some cases, we send out a postal mailing first, followed by an email reminder, either to the whole target group or parts of it.”

“Sweden is a great market for seminars and training courses. Despite hard times, we are expanding our business in Sweden every year. That is evidence that we are doing the right thing. Not least, the recommendation to contact PAR turned out to be perfect for us. The cooperation works well and for us it is very valuable having just one supplier that has an overall grasp," concludes Arve Brogstad.
